So! I have a GameCube knocking about that seemed to be gathering dust and I really fancied a game of Need for Speed Underground.

In short Windows Media Centre was being too clever and delaying the picture fom my TV card to the PC ruining any chances of playing any games thru it …  Looks like my 5-year-old copy of PowerCinema solved all my problems. PowerCinema doesn’t try to buffer a live analogue broadcast (why would you want to?!) and actually gives you the option to disable PVR when you don’t want it, thus disabling any pointless buffering.

Winner!  Right, now I’m off to tart up this VW Golf …
